Zune

I ordered my Zune at the end of October, a gift to myself for still having sanity after midterms. I had looked at them for months, but never been able to commit to buying something that was over $200. But when the price dropped for a day, I managed to save over $50 and get free shipping.

I have a few things that I’d like to get for my Zune, and I actually have the money to do so now. Of course, now I don’t know if I really want these items. The main item I’m having a hard time with is a case for my Zune. I don’t want my screen to end up all scratched, and with it living in my purse that chance is really high.

I’ve managed to narrow it down to the following:

30GB leather case. My favorite of all of the ones I’ve looked at. It’s brown and pink – which I’m not a fan of – but it’s made from leather and includes a download card for points to use in the Zune Marketplace. Good news is that it wouldn’t cost me $50 if I ordered it off of Amazon, but it’s still more than I’d like to pay.

Belkin acrylic case. My second favorite. It’s a kickstand-style case made from durable acrylic, it has a belt clip, and it has a screen protector. Price-wise, it’s in the middle of the two cheap ones and the more expensive case.

I also looked at the compact slip case and the jam jacket, both looked cheap and didn’t offer the protection that my Zune needs in order to survive in my purse.

I have to buy a charger for my Zune that plugs into a wall, because charging from my laptop isn’t working well. My laptop hates sharing its power with something else.

Other than that, I’d love to have a dock and a remote. But a remote just screams L-A-Z-Y.

I’ll just put it on my wishlist for now.

  1. I’d say go for the first case. It’s more compact and stylish.

  2. When I bought my Zune last year I got the jam jacket.. it sucks, don’t get it. It’s nice if you drop your Zune, but it has no screen protection and it’s so thick it makes it harder to use the buttons.

I would really go for the remote though. It’s nice when you are cleaning the house or whatever, to be able to surf through without having to go over to the Zune each time.

With all of that said, I wish you the best of luck with your Zune. I got mine when they first came out and let’s just say, I no longer have it. It’s in a bunch of pieces because it was the biggest POS ever and I should have gotten an iPod!

I actually ended up buying something similar to the second one for under $2.00 – but if I don’t like it then I’m ordering the first one.

I want the remote, but that means I have to buy the dock or speakers or something – and that adds up fast. But it is on my wishlist if you want to buy it for me LOL

I’ll never buy an iPod – Apple and I do not get along at all. iTunes has installed multiple viruses on my laptop and I refuse to ever deal with any other Apple product.
