Scraping the Bottom

I’ve lost 43 pounds in the last few months. No, seriously.

This is sort of about that.

But really, it is about Yoplait yogurt. Yoplait is about the best of the various kinds of yogurts. Indeed, I like it maybe just a little too much right now. I find myself eating up to 400 calories of it a day – that is four containers of the non-fat stuff, FYI.

The product itself? I love.

I have an issue with the packaging, though, and it might lead me to stop purchasing Yoplait.

Most yogurt containers are designed so you can get all of the yogurt out without too much work. Not so Yoplait. Their containers are these long skinny things. A spoon can barely fit inside it and you need a special yogurt utensil of some sort to get all of the yogurt out. Trying to eat an entire package of it takes about 100 calories of effort and excellent hand eye coordination.

This would maybe be a positive thing, but anyone who has dieted can tell you that when you really are allowed to eat something you like, patience really doesn’t factor in to the equation. Thus, by the time I’m done eating this delicious treat, I am not satisfied – in fact, I’m filled with rage.

Rage that I take out first on the Yoplait package, then on the spoon and occasionally on surroundings inanimate objects. I figure Yoplait has raised my blood pressue to dangerous levels, which is tragic because my blood pressure was fine – it was my cholesterol that was killing me.

Anyhow, I am finding that low body fat % = constant state of rage. I blame the yogurt.

  1. I’m not a huge yogurt fan, but I know the evil containers that you speak of… Could they not have guessed that weirdly shaped containers would not work very well? Or was it part of their plan?

I believe that it was indeed part of their plan. Its a conspiracy against all of us yogurt eaters out there.

*shrug* I like Yoplait, and I don’t really mind the container.

  3. To me, eating yogurt is like eating live bacteria, so why not just skip the step and get into your local labs and start eating the experiments?

    They wouldn’t taste as good?

  5. excluding the yogurt for a moment- good for you. dieting and being successful at it takes a great deal of willpower, work and dedication. high five.
