Flip Flops

By John

I was reading the newspaper at work Sunday, and there was a piece on how Barack Obama has changed his views on certain issues, such as the war in Iraq and when we’d pull out the troops.

When his foe was Hillary Clinton, he’d take them out right now and then worry about the consequences later.  But now that he’s against John McCain, he’s willing to go and meet with the generals and discuss a proper plan of action.  I remember when he was proud of his family.  Now he seems to only be proud of his white ancestors.

Was this what he meant by change?

I’m not especially an Obama supporter, but politicians use different messages and different focus points in the primaries than in the general election. This was always one of the problems with the extended primary - the change in tactics is an obvious flip-flop.

You can find a number of ways that McCain has softened his messages from the Republican primaries also. Some of them are pretty significant.

This is the challenge of trying to appeal to the enormous mass of voters who are neither hardcore Repubs or hardcore Democrats. It should not be viewed as a reason to not vote for the candidate of your choice. Indeed, in the cases of both McCain and Obama, it shows that they are intelligent enough to try and run a winning campaign.

Oh, but his support for FISA? Fuck him.

I hate flip flops! The very thought of the main object holding my footware on is a piece of plastic nestled between my big toe and first toe freaks me out (not a foot fan!) And the unbelievably annoying sound they make slapping on the bottom of your feet - ugh!! That’s more disturbing than the sound of my thighs rubbing together while wearing corduroys - LOL.
Oh yea, politics….also not a fan. Obama’s change in views just helps reaffirm my belief that ALL politician’s, much like lawyers, tell you what you want to hear. Then, after they’re appointed, look the *bleep* out - hard to say what you’re in for.
