I have had web experience, either working on the website of a radio station I was working for or for my own websites, since 1996.
Last night, in the middle of the 355o heat, I did something incredibly dumb.
I deleted Radio X.
I was deleting unused themes in the CMS folder, and I accidentally deleted the one that was live.
My first thought was, “Fuck.” I busted my ass trying to get certain things right, PHP scripts to work, and the overall basic layout to be what I want.
And it was gone.
That’s not true, I had a copy of the folder on my hard drive.
Oh wait, no I didn’t.
So now I’m screwed. I have to create a new layout and try my best to get all the codes, scripts, bells and whistles up. While melting.
I cursed to a couple of people, from my friend Candice to Elyse and Chenoa. I didn’t know what to do, so I started from scratch. It’s not like I had a choice.
About 20 minutes into the new layout, I accidentally stumbled on a file. Test.php. I opened it up, and a rough draft of the layout I was using just a few hours before.
I tweaked it, got my PHP scripts working, and now all is well again.
Of course, I still haven’t made a back up.
