Wonderful…

NOT AngelaAn Amtrak train bound to New York has some pretty big problems thanks to a freight train derailment. Watching the news I see people calling from the train, bitching about how they are getting treated like crap, like prisoners.

  • They don’t have water on the train.
  • They have to pay for their food.
  • They won’t let them get out of the train.

Oh lord…

The horror stories are probably true in some aspect. For example, there probably isn’t much as far as water is concerned, but that’s because they haven’t been able to reach their exchange destination so they can dump the waste and fill up with fresh water.

But Heaven forbid they pay for the food. They were paying for it before. Just because a train breaks down doesn’t mean everything is for free. And if you didn’t bring enough money for food, well that’s just tough shit. Guess what, food runs out, and if they were expecting to be in their exchange depot at 11pm and they didn’t get there, they don’t have new food for you. Deal with it. That’ll teach you to pack a Just In Case bag.

My favorite is the woman calling the news station, whining about how they won’t even let the passengers leave the train. Because that’s what I want to do, leave a train in the middle of nowhere, and walk to the next train station.

Expect lots of lawsuits. People didn’t get to where they had to get to, they weren’t given lots of free swag to shut their friggen pieholes. In a crisis, they weren’t pandered to. No one sent a bus for them.

No one sent a bus.

During the holiday season.

What were they expecting, Greyhound to come up the tracks to save their asses? I think they were busy.

Sorry, but when I paid my $300 to get to Florida, I knew what I was getting into. I understood that if something were to happen that I would be stuck.

If an American Airlines flight in Denver is cancelled due to weather or some other unforeseen circumstance, you don’t see AA trying to round up people to get to their destination by packing them into a bus or train.

“Some of the people got off the train at the last stop and I guess they found a way to get home,” said the caller. While she sat their with her four kids bitching about how the toilets are dirty and there is no food. On the phone with CNN.

“They didn’t even tell us what was going on,” she said. They went to the Amtrak spokesperson who said they contacted the train and told them about how there was a train derailment and that they would try to work on getting the people home as soon as they could. “Oh yeah,” she said, “they told us that.”

Then she complained about the food again.

maybe i’ll look up that guy who jacked that school bus in new orleans after katrina and drove all of those people to houston and tell him to get his ass up there with a bus.

oh, wait… he’s in jail for selling crack. nevermind.

Argh, reading this just makes me want to pull my hair out. I greatly dislike people who are so ungrateful, not caring about anybody else but their own needs, and always having something to complain about because God forbid it started raining on their parade >.

It’s wild really, because here they are trying to get home and instead of biting the bullet and finding a way home themselves they are expecting someone else to do it for them.

    Waa waa waa!!!

Ugh, people like that seriously annoy the hell out of me. Like calling and whining/bitching is REALLY gonna do any good! Instead of whining, I’m sure there are multiple things she could put her energy into. And what did they expect!? The world doesn’t stop just because the train is having problems. Yes, it does suck, but life goes on. It’s the holiday season still and everyone is still busy so they’ll have to tough it out. I agree with the “Just In Case” bag as well, everywhere I go.. I always make sure I have snack food and atleast a bottle of water because I guess I’m just that paranoid but atleast my paranoia would have came in handy in that situation! ;)

yeah.. true, but I know if it was me regardless if bitchin and complaining is gonna help.. I would still be talkin shit. it would be the smart thing to be prepared, but realistically most people aren’t thinkin about food and other things they need to bring along “just in case”. I know I don’t stock the cooler like I’m havin a picnic in that bitch just to take a train ride. but oh well shit happens, they’ll live.
