Radio X with John and Whitters

Dude, I just uploaded WordPress 2.5, and now there’s an upgrade.  An upgrade, for security reasons and other crap.

Normally, I wait for this stuff to happen so I don’t get screwed, but here I am with an already obsolete version of WordPress running my site.

I was looking to throw a new layout up, too.  God, I dated myself.  All the kids nowadays call it a “theme,” and last week it was a “skin.”  Nobody does layouts anymore.

By the way, I need another shower.

  1. I think WordPress is taking over the world. You’re totally right about the “no one puts up a layout anymore.” *lmao* I feel so obsolete. Hehe.
    x despair

  2. I was seriously shocked to see a new update so quickly. They usually give us at least a few months. I still call them layouts…sometimes. You’re not entirely obsolete. :)

  3. Yup, I was just as surprised as you to see that ANOTHER update was available. Guess people must have exposed bugs and flaws already.

Eh, theme, layout, skin. Tomato tomahto. Same difference =)

  4. I still put up “layouts.” Screw all these n00bs. ;) A lot of these new WordPress users will never know the agony of hand-coding a LAYOUT with tables.

  5. I know what you mean – I used to do everything by hand, now I’m lucky if I can remember how to put together a table in HTML.

I seem to be the only one who’s had a smooth transition from the 2.5 to 2.5.1.

I think it was due to hundreds of 1000s of sites being hacked very recently – painful to do, I know, but important to do.
