Raining on my parade

Ever feel like no matter what you do, things are destined to fail?

Since Saturday morning, I’ve felt that way about a lot of things.  With work, it started off with a call at 1in the morning about a plug that fried.  Waking up two hours earlier than I expected, I had to go in, get my food truck in order, and then get reamed at for not getting dry ice first, despite being told to get to the depot first and worry about the dry ice later.  The weather wasn’t conducive, either, as this black cloud followed me all day.

A friend of mine and I had been talking, but have not talked over the weekend.  “I’ll call you later,” or “I’ll call you tomorrow,” and it never happens.  I mean, I at least say “I’ll TRY to call you” and warn the callee that I may forget or that something may come about.

A friend of mine is getting divorced, another friend’s son is in the hospital, and I got news early this morning that I probably should have gotten months ago.

They say when it rains, it pours.  Here I am wearing my short sleeved shirt and flip flops during a monsoon.
