A friend of mine got one of those cool little programs that lets you record tapes onto your computer. He spent $70 on the thing, which I guess was cool in his mind. He got everything set up, installed the program, and got all the tapes together only to realize his fatal flaw.
He doesn’t have a tape player.
I have a tape player, but only for show. It doesn’t work, but I kept it because it looks cool. I couldn’t eBay it off when I sold the rest of my radio broadcast equipment a few years ago, not that I was surprised.
Well, technically, it DOES work. The problem is the speed is a little fast. There’s nothing like hearing a Bon Jovi song as if the lead singer was Alvin Chipmunk.
I don’t know why I never junked the thing. There are other things I own that I guess I don’t need anymore. I might take stock of that in the next couple weeks and see what I can junk, and what I can salvage.

Yes! i have an old walkman that does the same thing. Well atleast i think it is still around. Probably not tho. I remeber the good ol’ days of copying your friend’s tapes before going on a long ass family vacation for the drive. Ah! the good ‘ol days =)
PS)long time no see/read lol
I have an old tape player or two also. I sometimes ponder buying a “tape drive” for my computer. They exist, you know. :D
