Now it can be told. Back in the day, during the infamous early days of Internet Gossip, one of my first writing assignments was for a site that was attempting to compete with IG, Cock on a Bun. I wrote a series of articles using the name Xerxes. I remember writing a piece about Bobbi Billard’s boobs imploding or something. It has all sort of faded into memory now, so before it fades out completely, now, at last, a look at Cock on the Bun from behind the scenes.

Truth be told, I was an awful writer for this site. What made me an awful writer for this site was that I really lacked anything that remotely resembled “killer instinct.” Oh, I tried to be mean and critical, but I just wasn’t very good at it when it came to real people.

So how did I get involved with it?

Well, Jocelyn from Unlovely and I had been corresponding during Survivorcam 2. She had been reading my comments on the board there and decided that I would be a good writer. She got me in touch with Amanda, who was also writing at COAB under a different name and Amanda hired me.

I was supposed to write something like one piece every week or every few days. I can’t remember.

Then, one day, it wasn’t there.

And that was all.

I like to think of it as the first site that I personally helped kill.
