I’ve been sitting at my desk with a blank, white screen looking back at me for days.

I’m in the middle of a “can’t think of anything to write about!!” stage, which isn’t a good thing considering that’s my major in college. I have a story that needs editing in a few places, but I can’t seem to get it where it needs to be. Normally that wouldn’t be a problem, but it’s been sitting unedited for two weeks now… and it’s due on Tuesday. It is a rough draft, but I’d rather have to not work on it as much during finals. Besides, I love hearing how amazing my writing is when we’re doing workshops – really makes me feel like a million dollars.

Speaking of money… I volunteered to work during the office’s Christmas party. Mainly because the money is always a good thing, but also because I felt really bad taking two weeks off for school-related things. Plus, I doubt that many people will be calling or coming by for tours during finals week. I’m also doubling my hours during January in order to get a little extra money.

I really need something that will get me back into a writing mood. Prompts just don’t work for me, especially when the only thing I can think of is a paper on obesity that I need to write. Inspirational, right?

I’ve tried just sitting down and writing whatever comes to mind… the problem is that nothing comes to mind except all of the things I need to be doing other than sitting there.

John: can you put that in 300 to 500 words?
