When you are no longer on this earth, how will you be remembered? A name on a tombstone, a photograph in an old family album, or perhaps your footprints on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?

If I had my choice, I would be remembered as one of the great writers of the twenty-first century. Not that I consider myself that talented, but let’s be idealistic.

In order to achieve this goal, I must actually write. Due to my self-imposed unemployment, I’ve found myself in a depressive state and unable to concentrate on what I had intended to do with my free time. However, I’m pleased to report that I finished the first chapter of my first novel. And…

I started my new job Monday. Let’s just see how this raises my spirits.

  1. Congrats on the new job! I’d love to see what you’ve written so far.

But moreso, I’d like to see a happier Arleigh!

  2. Congrats and good luck with the new job! :)

  3. Oh yay for you!! Keep it up! :)
I hope the new job’s going well.

  4. That’s great news! Congrats on your new job and on writing your first chapter :) Will you be letting people read it as you go along, or not until you have completed it and found a publisher?

  5. I cannot allow anyone to read it; they might steal it ;) It wouldn’t interest many people that I know anyway, because it is historical fiction.

I’m excited to be working again. I feel so useless at home.
