Dieting

I have never seriously been on a diet. I just weigh what I weigh. I become addicted to something like …marshmallows or creamy Starburst and then quit once I eat them till they make me sick a couple of times.

But now with my schedule the way it is I find I don’t eat anything until 11:30 / 12:00 at night and then crash land into bed. This is awful because I’m eating a whole day of food and then sleeping – meaning everything is going to my gut.

After two years of it I am pretty sure I can roll down the street on my spare tire….carrying half of Brooklyn holding on to my love handles. It is time to make a serious change.

I worked in a gym for like three years so I know how to eat and all the 20/20 specials on volumetrics, the abs diet, etc. just backed me up that I needed to get the ball going. Eat 5-6 snacks or small meals a day low in saturated fat, high in fiber and protein. All the fruits and veggies I can eat.

Saturday I tested it out and it wasn’t back so Sunday it began. Game on. At the crack of …uh, 9 I’m scarfing cheerios with low fat milk. At high noon, yogurt, then at two a cantaloupe and soo on and on and on.

It’s great. I feel great, I have more energy – my mood is more even and positive- optimistic even!! Except, I have to wake up earlier to make sure I have time to prepare my food for the day and eat. But it’s worth it. I have Christian doing it too and he’s already lost like, 1/2″ of his tummy!

So tip your low fat all natural organic yogurts to us!

  1. I think I’m in mad need of a salad diet or something. I’m not really eating THAT much, but I am “that” much =\

This sounds like a great idea… if I can only implement it in my own world, I’d be set.

  2. Sadly, so many people feel like they need to go on a diet. This means you’re going to go back to eating the same way not not exercising later, right? I hope that’s not the route you’re going for.

What needs to change are habits. When you’re more active and eating better, even just a little bit, your body will act accordingly. Simply walking my dog daily and drinking water helped me lose a lot. You know Amanda, ask her about it. :P
