I woke up this morning trying to figure out where my daughter Rachael was.

The last I remembered I had put her on the bus at the CDC for a field trip, and then decided half way there to get off the bus because the driver was insane and found nothing wrong with driving on the wrong side of the road through a construction zone.

In any event, I had to get ready for work. It’s my first day back after a nice vacation. I asked my husband Carl were Rachael was, but he was ignoring me.

I slipped on my sneakers and searched for socks for my other daughter Chelsea. Then I remembered I had to get into my uniform instead of my normal civilian clothes.

First I couldn’t find my pants, and then I couldn’t locate my blousing straps. Then when I went to check Chelsea’s diaper bag to make sure she had everything. I discovered two dirty bottles and a dirty sippy cup.

All the while I’m still trying to figure out where Rachael went. I couldn’t get any of the lids off the bottles to wash them. Chelsea took off her socks, and there was Rachael still asleep in the bassinet.

And I had woken up half an hour before I had to be at work. I was going to be late.

Finally I was in uniform and Chelsea was ready to go. I gather my bag and her bag and picked her up. Half way to the daycare center I realized I was missing something.

Where was Rachael?

I set everything down, including Chelsea, ran back to the house and still couldn’t find Rachael.

That’s when the alarm clock went off and I really woke up. My uniform was hanging up waiting for me, I am still pregnant with Rachael, and Chelsea’s diaper bag was packed and ready to go.

Needless to say, I was still late for work.

  1. I remember a while back I had an awkward dream, I was driving on the parkway to see Heather, then all of a sudden I was flipped in the air and I screamed her name until I woke up. I don’t remember what happened; I figured nothing good.

For the next six months I refused to drive in the left lane of that particular parkway.

  2. I’ve dreamt a lot of weird stuff in my life. Not that I’m old or anything, but yeah. haha. I remember when I was little I used to dream this really scary thing, and still don’t know why. Or like just last Saturday I was dreaming that I was crying to my mom for some odd reason. I don’t even remember why. I wonder what my dreams mean… Well, @ least yours was just a dream, too, right? *from despair*

  3. sounds like a major acid trip

  4. That is a crazy dream, but since I’m also pregnant I get those too and they are so vivid!!

  5. yeah don’t pregnant ladies usually have dreams that they have lost the child they are pregnant with or something? seems like i hear that a lot.

I used to have a recurring dream that I was cinderella. I don’t know?

  6. Crazy dream! I had lots of them when I was pregnant too. I used to have this same dream that a dog would attack me while I was walking down the street. I would wake up crying worried about the baby. I was told later that it was normal. It really freaked me out.

  7. Once I had a dream, and apparently it was ‘opposite day’. Everyone was talking in opposites and it was so confusing it drove me crazy and they sent me to a pyscho ward. I woke up when I got in the car.

  8. Aaaaw hehe… at least you woke up and it was all the way it should be!! :o)

  9. wow…..i hate, hate, hate dreams like that. I always call my mom for reassurance after. I have no idea why, but I always do. Thankfully, it was just a dream :)

  10. I hate dreams like that.. But thankfully it was just a dream and nothing more.

  11. I hate dreams like that.. But thankfully it was just a dream and nothing more.

    Dreams are over rated anyway
