I stumbled across an article somewhere online this week that said most women own nineteen pairs of shoes. Nineteen, to me, doesn’t seem like THAT many pairs of shoes.

I finally got around to counting my shoes…

shoe porn!

Two pairs of New Balance sneakers, two pairs of black Old Navy flip flops, white Old Navy flip flops, black flats from Target, black ballet flats with white polka dots, dressy flats with silver buckle, and my black boots.

Nine pairs of shoes.

I was pretty content with myself after that, mainly because I was under the average number! Until I went to put some of them back in their boxes and realized that I had missed some shoes – more white flip flops, purple bedroom slippers, and black heels. Twelve pairs of shoes, and I know of at least three pairs of shoes I have back home.

Women only wear 20% of their shoe collection regularly. I wear 35-40% of mine regularly, so I’m doing better than average there as well.

I’ll leave you with a quote before you run off to count yours:

The survey also found women would risk injury to squeeze into new slingbacks or stilettos, with 43 percent of women saying they had been at least moderately injured by shoes and eight percent reporting serious injuries like sprains or breaks.

  1. Hey there! Hmm…that is interesting. I think that I am under that myself. Your high heels are cute, by the way. I probably am about the regular wearer, however. Wow, I can’t believe what us women would do to look good, ha. Anyways, take care!

  2. I have a pair of sneakers, a pair of flip flops, a pair of boots, and a pair of shows. They’re all black.

Black matches all. And there’s no reason to confuse the issue.

  3. I have two pairs of crocs (green and blue)by steel toe combat boots for work. Dress shoes for my blues and another pair for nice non airforce clothing. my PT sneakers and a regular pair for when ever. Flip flops for showering at the gym and for slipping on when I’m to lazy for any other shoe. Finally I have my 2 inch high sandles with the skulls that I bought from hot topic.
