The Fair
September 11th, 2008, 8:22 am
By John

The Lil’ Moo and I went to the local Italian Feast and Fair a couple of weekends ago.  It was the first fair I’ve taken him to, though not his first.  Still, we get to have cotton candy, so that’s all good.

As we’re walking from the parking lot to the fair itself, being the good daddy I am, I transform him from Lil’ Moo to hat.  Saving him the walk, so he’s not tired before the actual fair.

Cream Soda
August 10th, 2008, 12:42 pm
By John

I know it’s not exactly the best thing to give a 4-year old but my son absolutely loves cream soda. It’s a treat I share with him when we go to the laundromat, not because that’s the only joint in town that sells it but because it gives me that Pavlov’s Dog mindset instilled in his head: If Daddy takes me to laundry, I’ll get cream soda.

Just like when we go out to IHOP for lunch. He knows that if we go, he’ll get to play in the mall’s play area. Going to IHOP means we’ll be checking out the fishies and the doggies and the rabbits at the pet store. We don’t really HAVE to, but the whole day is so conditioned that even I’ll feel weird if the pattern changes.

Now excuse me, I have clothes to put away and some soda to drink…

The Ultimate Sadness

Usually I pick the Lil’ Moo up Sunday night for a couple days of debauchery. For the Fourth of July weekend, he went up with his grandmother to “The Lake” for fun and whatever madness occurs at “The Lake.”

Despair

Wow… what a trip!

Seeing the love for my son the other night, I just couldn’t hold my emotions.  He’s the luckiest guy out there, with so many people that love him so.  I need to find ways to cherish him until forever that won’t get boring…

The show the other night was pretty off the wall.  I’m not trying to fluff up or anything, bit Christie and Miss MIchele really helped carry the show.  Had a chance to play “Who Said That?” and unfortunately the contestant didn’t win, so we didn’t get to spin the Big Wheel of Prizes.

Work, however, sucks.  It will continue to suck, I’m sure.  My bank sucks, my bed sucks, my everything sucks.

I should get some rest.  This is going to be a long day.  I think.

FOUR!

I can’t believe how time flies. It was just a week ago when Mommy told me we were going to have a baby.

Yesterday when the Lil’ Moo was born (he’s just a day old in this picture!).

Ten minutes ago when he started to walk and talk.

My son is four years old… and I can’t stop crying about how amazing he is.
