Worst Blog on the ‘Net
April 1st, 2007, 11:00 pm
By John

Before we close the 2007 Stick It awards, we want to thank everyone that made this possible. From when we opened up the nominations in early March, the voting in the middle of the month, and before that with the linkages and promotions on other websites and forums, we’d be nothing without you. Whether you linked the site, nominated someone, or casted a vote (or seven), you helped make the Stick Its a big success.

However, I’ve heard and seen people complain that this year’s celebration was not as dramafantasmic as last year’s, but that’s because - and I myself have pointed it out on several occasions - the “drama” scene is dead. Dead, dead, dead.

  • Anna Nicole Smith
  • James Brown
  • Internet Drama

Don’t believe me? Go ask Mahogany from DramaWars… if you can find her. Her month-long drama website experiment was over before it started since apparently all that site was about was her personal bitching against “Krystole.”

Too bad, she could have made Worst Blog, if her site wasn’t dead. Not like that didn’t stop CandyMB for Best Forum…

Anyway, without further adieu, here are three websites that remind you to go flush the toilet because the smell is just that bad… the nominees for Worst Blog on the ‘Net:

Blog of the Year
April 1st, 2007, 9:00 pm
By John

What makes a blog the Blog of the Year? Last year’s winner, DasBecca, is a good example. When you go to her site, you’re not bored by what she writes. She’s colorful, exciting, and doesn’t go on and on with vapid bullshit that means absolutely nothing. People read her website because they really enjoy it, not because she linked them or commented on their site once. They go to her site to get away, not get dirty.

I Am Leaving The Internet Forever!
April 1st, 2007, 5:00 pm
By John

That’s it, I’ve had enough. Every time I come to my site I get comments from people trying to bash me for something that happened over three years ago. I swear to God, I’m done, and I’m leaving the internet forever. I’m gone. Never coming back. This is it. I swear, it’s over.

Here’s my email address so I can link you to my new “doesn’t exist” blog.

That shit pisses me off. If you’re gone, then get the fuck out and don’t come back, ‘k?

Coolest Layout
April 1st, 2007, 3:00 pm
By John

Personally, I like a nice simple layout that’s easy to read and doesn’t have too much graphic intensity. I think the heavy graphic overload is just the webmaster’s version of penis envy - having a super meaty layout and no content to hear of. Do we REALLY need all those quizzes? Isn’t that what MySpace is for? Seriously, a good layout is just that - a good layout, and this is to honor the coolest of the cool.

Lifetime Achievement Award
April 1st, 2007, 1:00 pm
By John

After dishonoring TGO last year, we at the Academy of Stick Sciences sought long and hard for someone that could be at the same level. It was no easy task, but we think we found a match.

Our guest award recipient once had a website of his own, much like TGO did. During his original site’s run, he rarely went and commented on other people’s websites, but for a three month stint last summer he was trying to let everyone know he was back… and here to stay.

Did I mention he was only “around” for three months? After trying to bring back a drama website that dominated the scene for two years by first teaming up with someone he used to hate (and as such was embarrassed ridiculously when his imminent return was thwarted), then by trying to bring the old band back together.

The problem? He was still writing the same stories he wrote in 2001. The same exact stories.

With that, here is the recipient of the 2007 Stick It Award for Lifetime Achievement…
