I look at the monitor with this vacant, blank stare. I know I want to write about something, I just don’t know what about. I don’t feel like I have anything new in my life to report. I’ve been seeing my son lately (thanks to a piece of paper that says I’m allowed to), so that’s a good thing. I’m happier now than I was say a month ago, but I’m not really sure why. Other than him in my life again, everything else is still where it was, and that’s not really a good thing. So I sit here, wondering what to do when I wake up, making phone calls and trying to reinstate stability in my daily routine.

KansasI used to work for a radio station on Long Island where pay day was like a demolition derby in the parking lot. You’d go in to get your check, then ride as fast as you can to the bank to get it cashed before the account ran out of money.

Looks like those that work for the State of Kansas may be doing the same this week.

Killer Karaoke 2I keep thinking we did this contest last year at the Radio X show but apparently it was more than that, but nonetheless thanks to the support of a couple of friends, Killer Karaoke is back.

The basic premise is simple: Sing a song, record it, and win cash.

The more people in the contest means the higher the jackpot. This is one of my favorite contests and we’ve added an element to it that lets you record your song with music, too. You can even record video if you want, all of it courtesy of The Sims on Stage.

I’m sure that some of you like to sing, and some may in fact love karaoke. If that’s you, then this contest is perfect for you. The entry form opens tonight at 11:20pm and we’re only accepting the first 24 people. Whomever we have by Saturday night February 28 at 11:59pm (all times Eastern, by the way) will be in it to sing it.

If you’re interested, check out the Radio X show website or catch the show live starting at 10pm Eastern for more info.

With that said, what do you think of online contests like this?
