Okay, I work in retail. I work on commission…. I took over this store in June, saved it from closing and despite last ditch efforts- I don’t think it’s gonna stay open that much longer. Last December was the bleakest December I have ever ever seen.

I had to like throw things at myself to keep me awake. I sat here the other day and counted 11 people coming in and out of my store, and that’s including the mail carrier and people asking for directions. Sad.

Trust

You go to the therapist, the psychologist, the Reverend, or your lawyer and give them your undying trust. You talk about whatever it is you talk about, and at the end of the day the knowledge that they will not speak about whatever it is you discussed with them is golden. The understanding that if you just spilled that you beat your wife, neglect your kids over alcoholic binges, or discusses a social disorder that stems from the time you were sexually abused when you were 9 is a sacred one.

Why is it though that you are willing to give that trust to someone you don’t know? You don’t have regular, daily, social interactions with your doctors or priests, at least not generally speaking. The only time most of us talk to lawyers is when we need them, and even then that’s at $300 an hour. Regardless, you’re giving the kind of sacred trust to someone you don’t know.

Since 2005, I’ve been hosting an online Internet radio show called “Radio X”. I feel weird promoting the show here, in part because I never really felt right shilling a product on this site when this was about our writings, our specific thoughts on things, and so on.

But I did mention in the past when I came up with a new layout, or if someone new came on the show, or if we did new things on the program we haven’t done before. And this isn’t an exception. In fact, I am incredibly happy about the new developments I just can’t NOT share them with everyone!
