I look at life through my son’s eyes. I see the purity and innocence, the peace and serenity, and wonder a couple of things.
When I was younger, the world was more innocent. Was it, or did it only seem that way because I didn’t know better.

Doing the Laundry

One of my favorite things to do was the laundry. It wasn’t that I loved going to the laundromat in the hot weather with no A/C and having to deal with dirty families deciding to come wearing their most unforgivable clothing ever just so they can clean their wares. It was a way for me to focus, a chance for me to get away from the mess that is my life, so I could think about whatever it is I need to think about without my usual daily stresses.

Michelle called Sammy up and told him it was over. They fought for hours, and finally she said, “Good bye, Sammy.” The tone alone was enough for him to realize it was indeed the last time he would ever talk to her, and he hung up without replying.
That was an hour before he found his way into Tara’s Pub. Already a drunken slob, Sammy told the story over and over to just about anyone that would listen. He missed her, loved her, and hated that bitch, time and time again, drink after drink.

Bill Parcells has left the Cowboys.
Now, I feel the same way about the Cowboys in football as I do about the Yankees in baseball, which is to say I view them as the big enemy. This is somewhat unfair to Dallas since they haven’t been great in a number of years while the Yankees are always fantastic.
See, I’m of the belief that having a monolithic team in a league that is awesome across the decades is good for everyone - it raises the level of competition. This doesn’t mean I like the Yankees or Cowboys - far from it. But I would dislike it a whole lot more should they ever truly suck.
