I confess, 2004 has ended badly. The horrible tragedy in the Indian Ocean; Jerry Orbach’s death; on a personal note, my skin is dry and flakey. None-the-less, I would have to say that this year has been my favorite year.

Christmas 2004 Update

Like many Americans, I would like to take this opportunity to totally ignore and disenfranchise everyone who does not buy into Christmas by spending a few minutes focusing on it. Baby Jesus cries every time an American acknowledges that there might be people with different belief systems. Remember, Americans, religious freedom means having the freedom to trounce on anybody who believes different things than you, so today, Christ’s brithday, is an especially good day to trounce.

Where’s My Gift?!?

It’s that time of year again. You know, time to buy gifts for people you haven’t talked to or seen for almost a whole year. Time to rush to Toys R Us to get that Spongebob Squarepants money clip for your boss before it’s sold out (too late).
I’ve been around the block for a while - about 31 years - and I guess in the early days it was cool. Here I am, two months old, and… actually, I don’t really remember that far back.
What I do remember is that when I was younger, the holidays were about giving.
Not that that has changed much, but boy have perceptions changed.
